So, I made my own alignment jig. Its a clone of a well known string setup. These brackets hang off of the inner trunk and hood lips. Turned out (if you followed the thread on Mazda Racers) that it was indeed the lifters. After I got the car together, it idled for about 30 minutes (we were burping the coolant). It took the entire 30 min to quiet the lifters. Once that was all done. Car was perfect. Right where you would want a leak down... and quite nice compression numbers too :)So I...
I decided to fully weld the panel in place. There is alot to spot weld but I feel more comfortable with it being welded in. I'm going to weld the underside as well just to make sure it is solid. It takes less then 30 minutes to get it fitted but then it took me alittle longer to weld it in and then clean it up. With the panel installed it allows alot...
