Partial build 1990 with fresh full engine rebuild, new/refurb suspension to NA SM specs and brakes. It was meant to be built as an SM but owner can no longer race.

The car is not yet track ready. It runs, drives, shifts, stops. Less than an hour on the new rebuild, less than a mile on the build. It's been up and down the cul-de-sac a few times, or as we call it a suburban reconnaissance lap.

The cage was removed to make it into a DE/Solo car but that project didn't get past removing the cage. The cage is not available, it's now a lovely trellis in the backyard.


The car was stripped down to the tub. Fresh paint, engine compartment, trunk, wheel wells and interior stripped and painted.
1993 1.6 longnose engine with a 0.010 overbore. Block was dipped and magnafluxed, new bearings and rings. New water pump and timing belt. New hoses and belts. Head is stock and uncut with new valve seals and keepers. Valves and valve springs reconditioned.

New clutch, throwout bearing, clutch slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, stainless steel clutch line from Advanced Autosport. Five speed trans with VLSD rear end with CV joints reconditioned with new boots.

Everything from the subframes and below is either new, rebuilt or reconditioned. New out of the box Mazda 1.6 NA SM suspension kit. Refurbished arms and sub frames. New bushings, new suspension hardware including the cam bolts and hardware. Power steering plugs from Advanced Autosport. Advanced Autosport adjustable sway bar links. Sweet Mfg. quick release steering wheel hub with generic 13" steering wheel.

Entire brake system refurbished. New brake calipers, e brake adjusting screw mod on the rear. New rotors front and rear. Rebuilt master cylinder. New, never bedded Hawk Black pads front and rear. Advanced Autosport stainless steel brake lines.

Reconditioned hubs front and rear. Advanced Autosports long wheel studs and lug nuts. Team Dynamics wheels (fresh powder coat, they were Drago's old rain wheels). SM6 take offs with enough left to get a couple of track days from them.

Snug Top hardtop.

Trunk and hood pins (not installed)

Aim Drack EVO 3 data unit with MyChron dash (not installed)
Supertech analog tach (not installed)
VDO oil pressure and water temp gauges (not installed)
Miata Cage miata dolly, assembled with casters.


Some of what you'll need to add:
Needs front and rear glass.
Exhaust is complete to the downpipe. You'll need to add the system after the downpipe.
Cage. You'll need to add a cage, the doors are gutted, there are holes in the package tray for the downtubes and the dash is clearanced.
Safety gear and seat.
Rear finishing panel. (the bit between the tail lights)

Front bumper cover is ripped, you may want to replace.
Right front (passenger) fender has some repaired damage, may want to replace.
