The grand opening of the new track at Thunderhill has been set for June 21 and 22. Everyone is invited including service clubs, local fans, dignitaries and celebrities. Admission is $10 for the entire weekend. Mark the date down – June 21-22, 2014 – and plan to be a part of this historic event in Glenn County and Willows.

Tilley and I rode our mountain bikes around the entire track last week.  There are going to be some really crazy parts to the new track! Have fun!

Oh man...with a 5 mile lap...watch your gas! I wonder if they will have a beacon at the far end of the new track to curb corner cutting??(In the 25hr race)

When I spoke with Vodden, he said they were planning on using the whole track, 5mi, for the 25.  I am personally very excited.  But there are a few logistic issues to work out for both running / flagging / safety for a track that size and additional challenges for the racers.  Fuel was mentioned but radio contact may be an issue on the other side of where your pit is at.
