So I live in a one bedroom apartment with my girlfriend, and while I would love to set up a play seat I just don't think it's going to fit with the current decor as a piece of the living room furniture.

I saw this collapsable wheel and pedal stand, but even when folded it doesn't look that compact. At least the play seat can double as a coat rack.

Anyone have any other ideas out there? Has anyone tried to do it with just an old fashioned tv dinner table?

Cheers,
vick

Vick I think that would work fine
I have been doing iracing for three years now and talk to all kinds of people and you get guys with crazy set ups to guys using a joy stick and lap top
The set up you show would work with a folding chair or something that is firm and sits you up Straight

my race sim has a $1200 race seat in it. The rest is plywood :D

The thing you posted is cool, but i require a bit more mass... even the 70lb box i built tends to "walk" across the carpet.

Well I finally got off the ground and working with Iracing, and this stand is actually really pretty sturdy.

The only thing that has happened is the force feedback has caused the screws that hold the shifter plate to loosen. I'll just loctite them back into place and keep going.
