Careful! This is a proposed rule change. It has not yet been approved by the BoD. Put that grinder down!

Even if the legality didn't change, the clarity is worth it. Well done.

If the legality of the rule didn't change you would have read something like:

Thank you for your input. The rule is sufficient as written, or maybe with an enhancer that the CRB has re-written to clarify the rule. The CRB TOTALLY added undercoat words to the rule. Just because a couple SCCA group members say it was legal in the past doesn't mean it was legal in the past. Neither of them ever specified the legality rule previously.

It's no different that people inserting flat washers/spacers under the sway bar bushing brackets. Totally illegal. If you can't find the rule please ask.

I only argue to rules that do or do not exist.

Typical Clown fix. You can't deal with the factual rules therefore you throw in a side of hummor just like the other two that didn't come forth with a written rule on removing undercoating.

You know who really won on this, us tech inspectors who read this forum. I hate crawling under cars. BTW, you will see my letter to the CRB asking for the addition in an upcoming Fastrack with a note the change has been made. :spin:

Please show me where undercoating is specifically defined as something other than paint.

I just removed the insulation tar from the tub of the trunk (because it kept staining the damn car cover) and for the life of me I can't fathom why people would want to do that to the whole underside of the car... What a pain.

How about we quit agreeing to disagree & the benfit to you will be, I'll cover the costs of having that tar undercoat material sprayed to the interion & exterior of your new Spec Miata build. Hey, it's paint correct. :wave2:

As tight as the Clown is he wouldn't take this free deal.
