Yep, I'm in. So we've got the front of the field (Nash) and the back of the field (me) taken care of...

What is considered a "top 3" qualifying time at CMP?

Last year's February race saw qualifying times in the high 1:53s and podium race times from 1:53s to 1:55s. This year's restrictor plate for the 99's should tighten the field up a bit. :prayer:

That's crazy talk right there.

If you can't make it to CMP in February, come to Road Atlanta in March. Frank Todaro was talking about bringing some of the Ohio guys down. Hop on the Great Lakes train!

Thanks for the invite! I'll be on track in March, alas only a lapping day. Trying to save my limited bills for mid-ohio events as the champs are there...

I ran CMP last year at an ITR expo, loved the track, but not the 7 hour tow over the mountains . Reminded me a place like Putnam Park being that it has that small-town homey feel but an awesome track.

Some footage... I think I go off somewhere in there lol:

At the track right now; Sunday morning & my thermometer showed 19 degrees as I left the hotel. The last time I was at a racetrack this cold, I was the announcer for a Snocross series up in Michigan! Shiny side up, rubber side down.

Steve DeVinney and I missed qualifying because we left our cars out overnight and the water pumps froze. Thawed the cars (and ourselves), started from the back (DeVinney beat me to the grid so I was DFL and he was penultimate DFL - it is his birthday so that was my gift). Steve finished 2nd and I was 3rd. Nash Lawton was the fastest all weekend and we couldn't catch him. Fun racing and good crowd. John, you had me until the Thunder Roadsters got between us!

First 3 laps of Sunday's Lightning Race at CMP. Split start with SM and PTB getting the second green flag. I started DFL and finished 3rd. All criticisms of my driving appreciated.

Also, related to the other thread discussion about whether you should use mirrors or not, see 5:30 of the clip where the importance of watching your mirrors is seen.

Tom,

Do you have video of my spin?

Here is the view from my car but my camera mount was loose and the picture is a bit crooked. I missed 2-3 shift at T2 :crying2: and you passed me but spun in T3. :nonono:

It wasn't a divebomb as much as avoiding running into the back of him, missing the apex, and running out of racetrack. I was right on his bumper when he missed the shift and had to swerve hard left to avoid him.
