It was announced today at the convention that in 2012 we will have a shortened Runoffs schedule. It looks like Monday will be a test day either track or combined with SCCA. Tuesday will be at least the first half of the day practice. Qualifying and races will be Wednesday-Sunday. SM race will likely be Saturday before lunch.
What do you think? Hopefully more will join now. You can get away with two qualifying's imo, use one to sort the car and the second one, well you better nail it
Like eating broccoli and doing ten pushups every day when you wake up, shortening the Runoffs schedule is a tiny but (probably) directionally correct action that (probably) won't do any harm, but also (probably) won't be sufficient to address the true root cause(s) of less-than-desired participation.
Having said that - with the SCCA Runoffs being comprised of the Inter-Divisional sum of 1-5 person "constituencies", if >=4 additional people come to the Runoffs as a result of this decision, it will be a relative "success".
