Not sure if this will work but here's a view from the back. Did a very wide angle to take a look at how much work I was doing on the wheel. Car wouldn't turn right, and when if finally did, the back end would come out. Retired after I lost third gear. I'm sure zinging it a few times going into the infield didn't help. I'm not above taking drving advice if anyone has something to offer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjBnDtcTBN4&feature=youtu.be

Matt,

Your video was really hard to see, so I can't offer anything specific since I couldn't pick out enough detail. But Kyle's advice is good about a test day and/or coaching.

If your car is evil handling, its possible the set-up is not quite correct. I could see your hands working in turn 3. You gotta get the arc right to run through there at full power without much fuss from the ass end.

If the car is not handling properly in those 2 right handers you will struggle to maintain pace. Check that your sway bars are free when you disconnect them. They should drop freely. Anytime I think the set up is correct but the car pushes, check the front bar.

Any reason your running that tiny wheel? I suggest you run a bigger wheel, I run a 320, yours looks like a 270 or 280? It spins out of control in your hands quite a few times. You have far better control with a bigger wheel IMO.

There was a lot going on with your hands, that suggests the car is not doing what you want it to do? When my car is handling correctly my hands are VERY still, in car is boring and looks slow. When my car is handling horribly, my hands are moving quite a bit, but not sure they are moving as much as yours were here? I have never been one to saw at the wheel, I see many respected drivers who post videos who are constantly sawing on the wheel. Each saw slows you down. Many "think " they are sawing because they are at the edge etc, that is not my opinion. Get the car to handle correctly and try to turn in on a constant arc whenever possible and saw on the wheel as little as possible.
I suggest you get a full set up on the car and don't set it too low. If you need any help, let me know.

Excellent stuff guys. Sorry about the thread highjack. I've done the data and driver switch a few times I need to get a new data device as mine was stolen in that whole debaucle last month. Maybe I'll hit one of you guys up for "test drive" at TWS at the end of the month. One thing I'm not real good at is jumping out of the car and identifying where the car is underperforming vs my mistakes.

To Jim's point- yeah I was working incredibly hard just to keep the card moving forward-understanding that each time the front wheels turn sideways it scrubs speed. I had already planned on starting from scratch on the setup.

Now- back to the general topic- since I only ran a few laps I got out of the car and got to see a great race between Ross, Halderman, York and Reynolds! Now that looked fun!

To close the loop on the very off chance that anyone still cares: I took the posted and private advice of those who were nice enough to share some insight. Freed up the front bar, adjusted the ride hight, re-corner weighted the car, basically went through the entire set up again. I then took the car down to TWS on Friday- a track where I probably have well over 1000 laps in various types of cars. Practice on Friday- car handled well, pushed a little most corners (right and left) but felt really down on power. My lap times were 4+ seconds slower than what I usually run. Then had a guy who I respect as a driver who also is a bit faster than me jump in the car. His comments -"car generally feels good, a little tight, seems down on power". His lap times were pretty much the same as mine. Data showed splits almost identical.

I then took the shotgun approach, swapping sensors, thermostats, fuel pressure, etc. Results no better in qualifying this AM. Afterward, Brian Wisler was kind enough to share his leak down setup:

1: 3% 2: 25% 3:25%+ 4:9% There was a mini wind tunnel out the tailpipe on 2 and 3.

A good learning experience- even for someone who's raced a while. Thanks to all those who took the time to offer advice.

Thanks Brian for your help. I took off before thanking you. On top of the motor -my "new" transmission has a broken synchro. I was pretty much done after the race.
