Lots of intriguing possibilities. Med West Locals (Todaro, Webb) vs. SE Aces (AC, Bolanos) vs. the Texas Herd (Clements leading the pack) vs. TEENS (Jr., Udell) vs. Western Ringers (Hayes, Loustaunau) vs. NE (are there any entrants from NE?).

My handicapping is

Mid West 9-2
SE 7-2
Texas 10-1
TEENS 15-1
Western 15-1
NE 100-1

Wish I could be there. It is sure to be fun!

I'm thinking the locals! We had some great races there last weekend with Winchester on Saturday and Hille taking the win on Sunday.

Looking forward to a great race!

Make it 46. I'll be there hanging with Ed Gilfus & the Texas gang, contending for one spot in front of Tony Senese

Of course I am bias on the locals but having raced the Fla crowd there in June Bolanos and Charbs will be a factor. There are lots of fast guys on the roster. I am with Charlie i think its pretty wide open.

I wish I could agree with you about the 99's but Mid O in my view is more of a 1.6 track. Depends on the level of prep for sure. That extra 100lbs is not helpful in the back part of the track.

I strongly believe the 1.6 has the advantage at mid ohio. (at equal prep level of 99)

I'm available for coaching if anyone needs a mentor for the weekend. Just raced MidO in World Challenge with a 1st and 3rd. Having won NASA Nat'ls in SM twice at MidO, I can help you get the job done as a driver and setup guy - rain :crying2: or dry!

Full disclosure: SMAC chairman, my opinions do not reflect anything to do with the SMAC unless specifically stated.

Really Pat? Just lay off it bud... We're all pretty much done with your 'kill the 99's regardless of the facts' messages. BOR-RING.

The cars are so equal this year, but in the dry @ Mid-O I'd give the 1.6 a teeny-tiny-miniscule advantage (only if prepped right for the conditions). But it's gonna rain which levels out the cars even more and spotlights the drivers with the biggest set of onions.

Yep and looking to improve a few spots over last year surely he will be.

dont disagree... been long hard year so far for me, but you never know, been saving and hording up tires and my funds for that week. It takes luck, both with the weather and the setup at mid ohio. Had a good weekend last weekend in pte, ran my personal best, and had made wholesale changes to that car for the nationals. Bolanos will be circling my trailer like a Hinckley Ohio buzzard looking for tires if I am out of it early... One thing I have learned in my 3 years of racing at mid ohio... Never count yourself out till the fat lady sings, I have seen fortunes turn on a dime many times, whoever wins the event will be most deserving, it will take skill, very good car prep and some luck.
