Is it possible to use Traq Data module to trigger an alarm on the Traqdash when the alternator stops working (when the belt breaks)?
Great question. I'm new to SM and I've heard alternator problems is one of the top three issues with engines (the other two being over-revs and lost coolant).
I hope this bump helps prompt an answer.

Yes you can set an alarm on the traqmate. You can monitor the voltage on one of the analog inputs, set your alarm values there. The traqdash does have a voltage gauge on the screen without using the analog input, but I dont think you can set alarms and I know you can not log it. Not yet anyway.

If the alternator quits working it will throw the idiot light on in the dash at some point.

I have been fighting a malfunctioning alt light for last 14 months... The alt light comes on, car is charging normally.. Ironically the alt failed at cota and the light never came on. The next session charging normal, I got the light again I am down to demonic possession. Changed everything in the entire car less dash harness and cluster, they are going before COTA
