Passing this on.
J~

As you probably know by now, NASA SoCal is heading to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca July 6-7 for a combined event with NASA NorCal. This race will be well attended, and because the track limits run groups to 35 cars max, you might want to register early. Here are the particulars from the registration page:

This is a limited space event because the track limits the run groups to a 35 car maximum. Available space will be divided equally between NorCal and SoCal until April 23rd, after which availabe spaces will be filled without regional consideration. A priority based system will take into account three factors:
1) The number of Regional events you have entered (NorCal or SoCal)
2) The number of Regional events completed prior to this event
3) The order of registration for this Laguna event.

Note- Higher priority will be given to #1. Example, if you register 60 days before this event and you have entered 6 NorCal or SoCal regional events you will get a spot before a person that registered 90 days prior but has only entered 3 events.
A $10.00 non-refundable Pre-Registration for this event will be made available Jan 15th at 5:00pst. This will be space reservation entry only and not acceptance into this event. Once we get critical mass to fill a group you will be notified via email and asked for final payment. If you are not accepted to this event, your space reservation will NOT be refunded.

Entry Fee for this event will be $539.00

Note- The $10.00 reservation fee is to encourage entries that are very serious about participating. If you only join us for a few events you might not be accepted and please understand this early reservation fee is not refundable.
Register through the NorCal or SoCal sections of the NASA site. Here's the link:

As a heads-up, this event does not fall under the usual 93 dBA limitations ... but you will have to keep it under 105 dBA.

Is this a new rule or only for this event? SCCA had 56 spec miata in the june race last year.

Yes, seems small, IDKW. NorCal NASA does have a smaller SM group than SCCA. Got it from here.

Nope, just 35 cars on track at once.
"The track charges extra if more then 35 cars"
Have to see the schedule when it comes out.
Also sounds like there "Higher priority" is local NorCal / SoCal NASA racers that have run the season so far.

There's always Sonoma Sprints Dbl Rational that weekend.

SCCA runs unlimited cars at Laguna up to what the rulebook allows for safety. In low speed differential classes like Spec Miata (or Spec E30), that limit is about ~62 cars IIRC.
