I see a few 99 miatas entered in the majors race as T4

http://www.motorspor...80DD34C2761D9C3

I cannot find/navagate scca rules or the net to find any info on how the car is classed as to weight, plate, Sm trim , etc........

can anyone point me in the right direction, or give a quick summary of what is different than a 99 in SM trim( this would be best for myself and others reading this.

thanks in advance.

Josh

So SM + shocks + intake +  any limited slip + 2.5 max camber + 4.5" ride height + brake ducts

195 50 15 is the max tire size.

Protest everyone's tires after the race and win! ;)

The specification seems to contradict itself; an example of which would be the wheels specified at 15x7", and yet the original wheels are to be retained? The factory 15" wheels are (as I recall) no more than 6.5"; hence the manufacturer's choice of a 195-width tire. Don't know that I've ever seen factory 15" wheels at the track, anyway...

In the body of the T2-T4 rules ( I'm pretty sure ) you get 20mm from your base tire. ( I run 225's on my 06 )

You've got to run the stock cat ... CRB just declined my request to eliminate cat removal on my 06+ MX-5

Having said that , I think a 99 can be competitive in T4 , just run near SM times and you'll be fine at most venues ( not sure about Runoffs )

Just last weekend ( in a DE ) I ran my 06 ( still in full SSB trim ) a couple of seconds under the lap record on very old Hoosiers and I was still a couple of seconds off the SM lap record. I'm expecting to drop a couple more more when I add the suspension kit , corner balance , align properly with fresh rubber

Yep, you're right.  Wow, these rules are really poorly written.

"Unless otherwise so noted on a vehicle’s TCS line, all cars shall run
the tire size as listed for the vehicle in the TCS or an authorized
replacement size."

and then a little lower:

"All cars are
allowed a section increase or decrease of 10mm or 20mm"
