Thanks for the write-up and correction of my misconceptions Dave.

Now, if we can get them approved for SSM we'll be fine.

Keith, you know I'm not the GCR cop - just giving Rick some crap. ;)

I'm with David D. No one has presented any real data regarding shimming the rack. Must be another 'gray area secret'.

I know. I was just giving you a hard time. I haven't actually seen you protest anyone. Me on the other hand... I'm not affraid to write up driving infractions. The way things were starting to go in SM, I was thinking about just taping a protest form to each corner of the car, already partially filled in. That way, I could turn in the form complete with paint from the car who hit me.

Also, thanks for the write up Dave. It's pretty common in the I.T. classes in SCCA to shim the steering rack and/or tie rod ends. Not sure why SM wouldn't want this in the class. We're talking about a rule that costs a stack of washers that allows for fine tuning of your car. Seems to make more sense to me than some of the other way more expensive changes suggested in the last couple of years (sub frames and sealed ECUs come to mind).
