that srf driver is super lucky.....we had a similar incident here at LRP....except it was a 944 going up over a SRF facing the wrong way.  the 944 rolled over, and the spec racer driver had tire marks on his helmet......

Wow that's amazing he wasn't killed. Yet another reason why not to combine classes with formula based cars

OMGOSH!!! That second video looks horrible! Guess the Miata was tucked in behind and didn't see the lotus till it was to late? Wonder why there wasn't a yellow?

There is...watch the video again. But it may have come out right as the contact Miata was going by! And or he was keyed in intently on the car in front!

WOW, both the Homestead and LRP videos make you sit up and pay attention. We love to conveniently forget it, but never forget this is a sport that can kill you.

It could have easily gone the wrong way for that SRF driver at Homestead. So happy no one was hurt, but it could have been deadly.

Selin, hope your car is OK, guess its in better shape than the SRF.

I agree with Mr. Fumes. I really don't think SMs and SRFs should be grouped together.

Actually the SRF was in better shape! He was running it yesterday just with a different nose piece! As for us we had to park it because of a big hit it took to the radiator.

I know this is an oldie, but these Miata's can seriously get airborne. Also should help to dispell any push to run topless. Not sure if his arms were tethered to start with or not, but if he didn't destroy his arm, he came really close to it

Wow that's hard to watch. NASA needs to do something about their big bore group. Very dangerous to have sports racers running with mustangs, retired stock cars, etc. I saw a pretty bad one at road Atlanta similar to the srf sm incident...

Ok we need to stop posting these horrific accidents right before I go to Road America for the first time.

That last one was nasty, watch before the accident, his helmet was already above the cage, I'm sure he is at least 2 inches shorter if he ever walked again.

any idea if that driver was hurt? He looked unconscious when it landed. Also looked like no arm tethers.  I like my hard top more and more every time I see something like this
