Hello All:

I am new to the forum so I hope this is the correct place for this topic.

I am asking for you to take a couple minutes and vote for the following project http://www.dreambigg....aspx?entry=904.  You may have to use facebook to vote.  I had to click log in with facebook in order for my vote to be counted so I understand if you don't have facebook or don't want to use it to vote.  So far I have received zero spam from using my fb account.  You can vote once each day and voting closes October 21.  We are currently in first place but there is still a lot of time left and each vote helps.

The project above is in regards to an old raceway located in central Iowa that was in operation in the mid 60's.  http://greenwoodroadway.com/  It has since been closed for quite a few years but some people have been wanting to repair the track and facility and get it operational again.  If this project gets the most votes it will receive some funding which will be used to hire some race track consultants to do a study on the track and area.

Please consider voting and if you do vote go back every day up to Oct. 21 and vote again.  This is a picturesque area and I truly believe if this project can move forward that it would be a place that people would come from all over to race at.  I have included some more links about the track below:

Google Map's link to the area in question https://www.google.c...25&z=16&iwloc=A

A link to a website about the track and an event they had there earlier this year http://www.greenwoodrevival.com/about/

Article comparing the tracks similarities to a track in the popular video game Gran Turismo http://www.gtplanet....d-raceway-iowa/

Vintage film of the track:

Current day ride around track from the event held earlier in the year:

Thank you for your consideration!

VIR is obviously a perfect example of a great result from such an effort.

I checked - only 10 hours from my home - doable.

Next time pass those guys!

FYI Matt, I went through the rules and found that they only use Facebook info to verify that the person is real and not a phony account. Also, it says the top four plus a wildcard move on the the next round which consists of each individual to present their business venture to a panel of business experts. Hopefully a large number of votes will help his case.

Good find.  Agreed, I would think that having some support outside of Iowa could do nothing but help the cause.

Morning everyone!

With only two days left of voting, second place is only behind by nearly 100 votes. With Mid America Motorplex's fate unknown until the auction in November, this is a great opportunity to get another great track on our ever growing list. With this track located 30 minutes south of Des Moines, it could also help boost our local scca ranks once people see how much fun we have out there. So please take a minute to vote. Again, your info is not used for any reason other than verifying you are who you say you are.

Today is the last day to vote.  If you have facebook and wouldn't mind taking a second to vote it'd be greatly appreciated.  Voting ends today at 5pm CST.

Voted just now... we don't get too many opportunities to support the (re)creation of a racetrack.  Do it!
