Can anyone who's in the know share why he was fired?  I know the press release we got said he resigned, but that wasn't the case.  http://www.autoweek....PORTS/131019885

Per the press release, he's in a consulting role till the end of the year.  In HR terms, that probably means that he's being paid out through the end of the year in lieu of severance.

Unless the BOD went into executive session for the discussion - this information will be in the minutes, albeit cryptic. We have a representative form of government in the SCCA and as such the BOD is not required to explain thier decisions to members (if you don't like it, vote them out). Members usually want to know more detail than a BOD wants to share. Both are right.

He either pissed off too many people or was doing to good of a job....

never met the man yet him coming from a finance background HAD to be a good thing for SCCA, oh well.

I find it interesting how this club cannot keep presidents very long.....

The one knock that I've seen under his tenure is that World Challenge has certainly lost its prestige and is close to being irrelevant.  And that helps carry the SCCA brand, like it or not.  They lost Speed as the title sponsor, ended up with an aweful TV package (remember when we didn't get a streaming banner of the positions?), and then today's abbreviated hi-lights reel and double race format.  IIRC, Pro Racing has long money for a long time anyway.

By contrast United Sports Car has moved the ball downfield by merging the two main endurance series, which will consolidate sponsor money and help it be successful.

Jeff is a very good friend of mine, we've become close over the last 5 years.  HE HAS ZERO SCCA PRO responsibility, that debacle has NOTHING to do with him or SCCA Club Racing in any way shape or form...

Rant over...

Mike is totally correct.  WC and SCCA really have almost nothing to do with each other.  Certainly, Jeff's duties did not include anything to do with PRO or WC.  The Speed broadcast also had nothing to do with Jeff or SCCA, for that matter.  SPEED doesn't even exist anymore.
