"Track Maintenance, Event Preparation" on the MRLS Calendar.
Says 105 DBA too, maybe the best date they could do without mufflers.

MRLS closes ahead of major events like Moto GP, Grand-Am and, the Runoffs. They need time to prep the facility so the Oct 4-5 weekend is unavailable. The Sept 27-28 are the two remaining loud days for 2014 which the region acquired to provide pre-event testing.
Wow, that is not to good for the non SFR region guys Kind of "strange" having test days 8 and 9 days before the event even starts. the event is already long enough. We certainly can't afford to spend another 9 days out there.MRLS closes ahead of major events like Moto GP, Grand-Am and, the Runoffs. And folks bitched about the below rack motel prices around Road America.

Some of us are hoping all of these out of town super fast guys don't get any extra practice
It kind of seems that way I'm booking flights now for the Sept Regional. Although depending on who you talk to.. we have already been out there at a private test and run in the 45's .. Hard to tell fact from fiction these daysSome of us are hoping all of these out of town super fast guys don't get any extra practice

My understanding is the track is working it out so you can leave your rig and gear between the test days and the Runoffs. I know adding a R/T plane flight in there is less than ideal, but the entire rest of the year is booked out at 90db so there are not many opportunities to test.
Not complaining and certainly not try take away from the work you guys did to get any dates at all. But, for all practical purposes, this simply will not work for most, including me. By the time we fly there and back, we might as well stay the entire week, extending our stay to 19 days, just too much. Besides flying crew out etc. We will use our one session wisely on Monday I guessMy understanding is the track is working it out so you can leave your rig and gear between the test days and the Runoffs. Because STL has been cost effective track time so far this season... Taking an extra 9 days off in California might seem like a bargain to retubbing a bunch of cars.
Has the ability to keep rigs at the track between test days and the event been confirmed?

Update here - we have a tentative "yes" on keeping rigs at the track between the test days and the Runoffs. More to come later.

Vehicle Parking between Weekends
Vehicles can be parked at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca between September 14 and September 26. They must be moved to the Purple Parking lot and there will be no charge. Those leaving a rig will need to sign a "Hold Harmless" release form that states MRLS is not responsible for any damage or theft.
Purple Parking is a dirt lot up above the racetrack. See map: http://www.mazdarace...ns/track-maps-0

Just received this email, Testing Monday Oct 6th $300 ???
For Immediate Release
SCCA Runoffs Registration Opens Wednesday
TOPEKA, Kan. (July 21, 2014) – Registration for the 2014 SCCA National Championship Runoffs® at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the first west coast visit for the event in 46 years, opens this Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. (EDT, 7 a.m. PDT).
The registration process for the Runoffs, running Oct. 7-12 at the classic Monterey, California circuit, includes the ability for a driver to choose a car number for the National Championship event, as well as sign up for the Monday, Oct. 6, test day. Driver car numbers from 2013 will be honored in the same class for one week, until July 30. Complete registration process, including car number conflict procedures, is included in the supplemental regulations.
Included in each entry for 2014 is a 30-foot long by 25-foot wide paddock space. Larger spaces are available for participants with trailers longer than 30 feet in length for an additional cost. Unlike in the past, where specific spaces were reserved in the paddock, participants will be assigned to a paddock area based on their space needs and then parked as they stage to enter the facility. This will both ensure easy access to spaces and utilize every possible piece of real estate in the paddock. Space is limited, and the main paddock areas will be assigned by entry date.
Test day registration for Monday, October 6 is also available at the time of Runoffs Registration. The test day entry fee is $300.
More information, including the Supplemental Regulations, schedule, detailed paddock parking instructions and more, is available at SCCA.com/Runoffs.

Are you questioning the fact there is a test day or the price? Considering TH wants to charge the same price for a test day(Fu$king ridiculous!)that sounds like a bargain
I think many ( myself included) thought Monday was part of the event, not an extra paid day.
