We got the confirmation from Laguna Seca that we can leave rigs at Laguna Seca between the September 27-28 test days and the Runoffs starting Oct 6th.

I know this is a biggie for a lot of people who are coming from a distance and makes logistics easier.

Not perfect, but remembering my tow bill to Road America makes a plane ticket seem like pocket change. :)

Yeah but people still have their tow bills PLUS rt ticket, not one or the other.

My tow bill to road America was around 1200. If I went to Laguna it would be 4000.

The same can be said for the west coast boys coming out east.

Has anyone looked at shipping by train?

Maybe even rent a truck for the time needed and fly the crew.

You may want to hide your secrets, but there's local crew for hire too.

Just thinking there's a cheaper way than 4k.

This was Brian's point...tow once and fly back or tow twice!

Bottom line is its an expensive proposition for anyone to go cross country. Over the years a few West coast guys have made the trip but it's rare. Same thing will occur this year with only a few making it out west...but way more than have ever gone east! But with a lot of programs stepping it up on the west coast this year...I anticipate more participation form here in 2015 and 2016!

You guys all realize that you'll only get ONE test day that weekend, right?

I understand the value of test time at a new venue. The big guns going either direction will gravitate to the pointy end/podium. :twocents:

I know Todd doesn't like the format, but 8 hours of open track with 50 cars would be, uhmm, doing the calculation... carrying the one... eleventy billion % more track time than we get at most test days.

Or we could be smart about it and double the amount of people per day and add groups. Nobody is going to run all day long and take advantage of a full day of track time. Split it into groups so people can run 2 days, and you get more people per day.

It's bad enough there's not even an option to run both days, but at $1000 entry fee for one day of testing who could afford to?
