I chipped my brand new windshield at last week's RA major.  It grew to a one inch long crack by the end of the weekend. Naturally it is right in the line of sight.  Any issues with resin filling/fixing versus replacement? I would fix this rather than replace if it was my street car.

I have several "fixes" on my ASedan windshield and they hold up very well.  I would try that first and see how you feel about it.  I don't see any of the resin patches when racing, although I can see them when I look closely in the pits.

I fix my own, and they hold up well.  I recommend drilling a very tiny hole at the end of the "growing" section if possible.  This will stop the growth of the crack.  Fill with resin. Done.

Drilling to stop the crack from growing is a very important step. If you're worried about doing it, call safelite or equivalent in your area. Have them come to the house and do it.
