The Third Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling today awarding $14 Million to VICI Racing from its sponsor T-Mobile. The opinion on contractual rights and responsibilities is lengthy (57 pages) and probably only interesting to transactional nuts, I mean, lawyers. It can be read here:

One interesting finding was that a race car accident was a Force Majeure, or an "act of God," excusing a party's performance under a contract.

 

Likewise, in the future I am going to argue that my next accident is not my fault but must be an "act of God."

I actually read most of the opinion, but had to skim a bunch.  Very lengthy and complicated.  Tom, if you are a transactional nut, you may want to look at the job I posted in the Pit Lane section of the forum.

I am actually the opposite of a transactional nut - I would rather be on my feet in a courtroom before a jury spinning tales of woe about my client and getting big verdicts than sitting before a desk dissecting a contract. The NASCAR job does look cool, though. Wonder if they need a courtroom lawyer?

Tom if you apply for the job, they may want to look at your lap times, I am thinking that might be the glass ceiling.
