Do driveshafts have to be stock?

I have 99 SM with a bad u-joint, i want to repair or replace I did not see anyhere that driveshafts are tech item. So do I replace with a new from Mazdasppeed for 600 bucks? or get a remanufactured for 300 bucks?

The have to be OEM, not aftermarket...but if servicing means you are getting it rebuilt to an OEM standard, that is fine...

that is a rare occurrence, i am sure you can find a complete replacement for cheap,  I have two spares.

Mazda does have 3 of them  with discount 600 buck, pretty expensive
