In the midst of all the man-drama at the SIC at Daytona, we should take a moment to recognize that a Champion was crowned this weekend!  Congratulations to Selin Rollan on earning his first SARRC Championship!  He has shown time and time again that he has what it takes to compete with the local regional guys as well as the best of the best in any Majors race.

Congratulations also to BSI, who builds and performs trackside support on Selin's cars, and to Mike Rossini, Selin's engine builder.  You won't find a better group of guys at the track!

Looking forward to racing with you again soon CHAMP!!!

Thanks for the post Dan - yup sometimes the man-drama becomes so engrossing that we forget about the really great stuff.

Selin has chased this title for several years and finished 2nd twice. To see him follow through and win the Championships is a huge achievement and a testament to his skill behind the wheel. This weekend I watched him work with Todd Buras and I was so impressed with his ability to be glued onto Todd's bumper especially through the turn. Most of us like to give ourselves some room to breathe, but Selin kept the sheet of paper squarely wedged between his bumper and Todd's.

Congrats to Selin Snr who has been unwavering in his support of his son's racing career, and a big shoutout to Mike Rossini and Stu Brummer. Well done all.

I guess the Major's title is next on Selin's to-do list!

"I guess the Major's title is next on Selin's to-do list!"

Danny, why would he step down from the most difficult Division title to earn? This year, he bested 216 other drivers who entered SARRC races in 2014. Majors only had 132 drivers.

Selin has earned the Red Jacket and will join those who wear it proudly.

Congrats to him and all his team. I'm sure they will enjoy the SEDiv Awards Banquet at the Sea Palms Resort on St Simons Island January 31st, 2015.

Am I the only person that thought Dillon won and Selin was 2nd because race monitor showed Dillon won by .008?  Or was Dillion bounced?

Dillon won the SIC race, while Selin finished 2nd (missed by only .008s) and won the SARRC Championship.  Congrats to Dillon for his race win as well!

Very manorly young man I am very happy for him!

Congrats on the sarrc championship!!!!

It was very nice to see how he and his father interacted all weekend. I think that is just to cool when a family gets that involved in the racing.
Way to go Selin!

Wow! Thanks a lot guys! I had no idea this was even a thread due to the fact I've been constantly refreshing the "SIC Tech" thread....hah.

It's been a great year this year, racing door to door with Spec Miata's best and making it to some Major's podium, but I knew the SIC would be a tough race, especially having it go down to going against two awesome drivers + their just as strong teammates. I thought it would be over for me when my teammate lost his motor in the opening laps of the race, but I somehow managed to finish infront of the competitors I needed to and locked up the championship.......and was SUPER close to winning that race! .008 seconds!!

Congrats to Dillon on the win!

I really need to thank my parents and sister for all the support they have given me through my years of racing. Also BSI Racing, who builds the best cars out there, Apex Alignment who always give the best setups, and ofcourse a big thank you to Mike Rossini for providing me with amazing power through this year!!

Let's see what next year has to bring!
