Have read road racing testing has been investigated. Never found any conclusive results other than, it doesn't work. Whose been involved or have knowledge? Please leave out the cost factor while reading.

Are you asking if this sort of torque measurement works? It does. This is how they figure torque in things like top fuel dragsters. There are a number of different sensor manufacturers with slightly different technology that all work very well.

To give you an idea, it can sense you trying to twist a 1" diameter piece of aluminum with your hands.

Torque is simply math.  If you have accurate GPS, and we do, and you know the weight of the car, and we do, and tire diameter, and gearing.  So yes it can be done very reliable within in a few % IMO.

TrailBrake and RacerX, not disrespecting what your saying. Have read some other peoples stuff, NASA and now and then on this site. folks say, not ccurate. My only point in starting the thread is that there is constantly talk of Dyno checking immediately coming off the track for torque/hp. Dynos are not available at many tracks and the whole deal is very time consuming. Thought maybe someone from NASA or someone else who tested would jump in with what they tested and did it work or not.
