Many are posting hints as to the outcome of this meeting. The direction from this meeting is yet to be determined despite what any of you may or may not have heard. The board is meeting today, so no decision has been made yet.

We should get an announcement today. Until that time, please keep whatever you think you know to yourselves. I have deleted several posts and two threads.

When the results are announced we will have plenty of time to react and discuss

Thanks
Jim

You deleted MPR's great drama thread? Bummer - I was just about to sit back with coffee and watch the rumors, innuendo and emotions start to blossom. Sigh. Now all I get to do is go watch the F1 drama at COTA today.

We know changes are being proposed.

What we do not know is if we will have an opportunity to have public comment and a voice.

What ever happens, if you do not like it, just don't complain on this board but voice your opinion to the SCCA/NASA, It should be a majority rules situation, not a dictatorship IMO.

VOTE with your $$$$$$$$$$$.  Don't race SCCA if they refuse to be inclusive of the drivers in their biggest class.  NASA (John Mueller) don't make the same mistake.  Capitalize on the SCCA's fumble and make your organization the place to race.

Thats kind of you but I'm pretty sure you don't fully know want easy discussed and if you do I'd like to know how you know it.  The long term health of the class was the focus and after some back-and-forth we found a place were everyone at the table agreed.

Am I the only one that feels that there has been a collective overreaction among racers to whistler-gate, the Runoffs protest and 2015 competition adjustments?  None of this is hard to fix in my book.

I don't know anything about what is being discussed.  What I do know is that when a small group of people sit around a table and come to a decision rest assured it is not what is best for the masses. When the discussions are being held without input from those most directly impacted by those decisions I can guarantee the decisions are not trivial.

Therefore my conclusion is that there are major rules changes being discussed, not just weights and plates.

If i am right, then NASA would be silly to follow the course of their big brother.  NASA is a business looking to claim market share.  I think they have done a great job over the last 3 years earning my money.  If I owned NASA, I would be advertising to the whole SM community that we believe the class needs some tweaks but no major changes and these are my tweaks.

1. Increase 1.6 tq

2. bigger plate for NA 1.8.

3. 99 same

4 01-up not sure but will evaluate as the season progresses

rewrite the rule on the plunge cut to have some specific tools and measurements for work that can be done.

Then i would watch as more and more people came to the class.  If i was wrong I could always go back to kissing my big brothers a$$.

Pat do i need to hold your hand on everything???

when we say 2015 rules we are talking about the big wampum wigwam party they had yesterday at Topeka out in flyover country.

We have no idea what or if there will be changes to the rules from just the str site seeing party.  but one of the smaller chiefs from the Nasa tribe was sent to smoke peace pipe with the big Chief at scca and a whole bunch of chiefs without to many inidans in attendance.

we are all now guessing horrible things like those chiefs want us to jump off a cliff  onto a rocky canyon floor, but maybe those chiefs really are just trying throw us parity party.

Lets take a breath and wait for little chief sitting Mueller to send smoke singnal from Anehime on the great counrty of milk and honey.

The STR is minor compared to the absolutely blatant nature of the compression issue.  That was discussed as well yesterday.

However I will say I was surprised to see that not one of the heads found noncompliant had the plunge cut "just cleaned up" or debarred.  All appeared to be done with intent and it was obvious when compared to the untouched sample head.  Okay, maybe it's not measurable but that's mainly because the way the rule was written.  Some heads were better than others but the most of them were so bad that even to my untrained eye it was noticable.
