Pretty awsome to see Spec Miata's own Tom Long leading overall! Way to go Tom! Way to go Mazda!
Yes it was due to fuel strategy and stops, but nonetheless it was cool!

Cliff notes version for those who were not able to watch, thanks!
They put Jordan in the car late in the race, without doing the math on the specified maximum time one driver could spend in the car. The announcers never did spell out the exact issue, whether it was too many hours overall, or too many hours within a specified time limit (they may have said which it was and I missed it). At any rate, they had to pull him back in and change drivers again, removing any chance for the win.
True, basically you can't run more than four hours in any 6 hour period. They wanted Jordan to finish and put him in with about 3 hours to do or so.. they did not figure his previous stint before Max would come into play. Jordan was the driver before Max.. so going backwards.. Jordans previous stint was still within the 6 hour window, do they went over the max of 4 hours within 6 hour period.

After a mistake like that, there's a good chance that position is going to be open for hire
It was a great weekend again. We park our 5th wheel right at Speedway Turn 2. Don't get the radios so we had to come back to watch the TV to see what was up. Like you have said... big time rookie mistake for Wayne Taylor Racing.
How about the problems for Colin Braun while leading PC with just a few laps to go? Heartbreaking. At the time (watching live on TV), the announcers didn't seem to know what caused the accident. It was hard to believe it might have been a simple driving mistake. A few days later I read that a slow DP car ran Colin off the road. He was able to get going again, but the suspension had been damaged, causing the crash (and fire) at the bustop.

I figured something had to have broken the way the car snapped going through the bustop like that.
How bout this? LOL

I believe the possum actually was just playing, well, possum, and revived himself to rule Daytona another day.
