I have 99, and want to do the clutch delete on it.  I had a 90 and it was simple, unplug the connector from the pedal switch, insert jumper, done.

I have tried that with the 99, and it does not work.  I left it unplugged and that does not work.  This is just messing with my brain.

My only guess is that the ECU checks that the circuit is open when you turn initially turn the key on, and then waits for it to close(depressing the clutch pedal) before the starter circuit completes.  That doesn't make sense either, but... :noidea:

Any do a clutch delete on a 99?

I think you jumped the wrong switch. There are 2 on the clutch pedal, one is for the cruise control (even if you don't have it), the other for the starter interlock. The starter interlock has heavy gauge wire running to it and I believe it's a white switch. I just cut off the connector and crimped the wire together. Others have used some method of keeping the switch plunger depressed to maintain continuity.

I got excited and thought he found a way to delete the clutch and make it a sequential gear box.

You might ask Skip Brock aka "broke" about that i think he was experimenting with that at his last race. Something about replacing three transmission.

What about it Skip Broke.

Yep that was it.  I had missed that second switch on the side and back.  I forgot how much I love doing the clown headstand into the pedal box.
