What a race today ... The talent of these guys is amazing! No one was complaining about power or anything other than being completely wore out.. It was a battle. Most all of the top eight were hanging on.. Track got really slick and greasy.. Watching Todds race from begind. It was one of the better races I have witnessed, very impressive.
Congrats to Selin, Andrew and Todd and all in that top Eight gaggle .. Again the talent is just nuts at this point. That race was a lot of fun!
We have one hell of a class ! Best thing is we get to do it all again tomorrow!

Thanks for the feedback on the live feed. I was telling Tiley before the race that I had an 8th place car (where I qualified) and anything better than that would exceed expectations.

Jim is correct - that was some hard fought, amazing racing throughout the top 10 (and I'm sure further back in the field). Side by side with Carbonell, Clements, Berry, Steyn, Yiannis etc and no concerns about contact. Close, fair racing with no corner given. That's what this class is all about.

Looking forward to more fun tomorrow - I'm sure the order will get shaken up a bit - lots of fast cars and good drivers.

If you watched the live stream, you'll see the top three went directly to impound where they checked belts, weight, fuel, stall test, ball joints, wheels, and a few other things I missed during the podium ceremony.

Not as many cars in the hunt by the end as yesterday but very close up front until the end. Congratulations to Danny for grabbing the lead early and never making a costly mistake in front of Todd. Dillon kept them both honest but his attempt to pass Todd around lap 10 almost let Danny get away. Had to try of course, it was getting late, but just couldn't quite get by.

Thanks again for the ride Todd. Are you using a phone, if so which one? Resolution is fine but like a lot of cameras it suffers badly from being in a shaded environment and shooting into a bright one. Not sure if you can override any settings but it could probably be a lot better with the right camera.

Should be about a week for fuel test results according to John Bauer. I didn't smell/suspect anyone running hot fuel and it is just a random check above the at-track hydrometer test.

Today went a little better. Got the handling dialed in pretty well and got a solid start. Great battle with Danny and Dillon.

T13 was pretty muddy, making for tough visibility and a lot of brown cars.

I have to give a shout out to one of our drivers, Senter Smith. First time at Sebring and first Majors event, and he finished 33rd after starting 52nd. Pretty impressive for a rookie that was completely lost on test day. Sorry that Keith May had to cut his weekend short due to a family emergency, but priorities are in the right place.

The live streaming was fun to do. Probably going to profit AT&T quite a lot, so you may want to buy some stock on Monday. Not much I can do about the visibility (blame Danny ) and the camera setup was what I had available. Not sure what other options would be workable, but how cool would it be if SCCA could provide some in-car feeds thru Race Monitor?

Old iPhone 4 in an Optrix case. Wifi connected ( no cell plan) to a mifi device, along with spare battery pack.

Ideas for better setups?

Haven't looked into them much but looks like they (Pro or mini) should do the trick without adding a lot of weight.

Incredibly fun and Very Intense racing this weekend. Too many really good driving shout outs to mention so I will keep it short... Lamb both days was on it, and Congrats Selin and Danny! First time in a car since the Runoffs, and could not expect a lot more. We missed the set up both days, but I suspect others may have as well. Always something new... Pushing Selin today and would usually drive thru the front cars windshield... Problem was his was literally nothing but smeared mud! I did get better at driving thru the side windows! Sat. was cool to see two Texas cars in the top 5, with the crazy talented Florida guys.
SM just keeps getting tougher! I love it! See you guys at NOLA

Fun two days of very close and tight racing. Congrats to Selin and Danny on the wins this weekend! Also glad to Jeff alright and able to drive his car back to the paddock after race 1 from his crash in turn 17. Video below is from my rear camera if you haven't seen it yet..

Bench, in the first race, Alex Bolanos had a fuel pump issue on the first lap. 

 

Jeffy hit that wall pretty hard but luckily walked away just fine, only suffering from a sore wrist the next day.  

 

Cory Collum was taken out in T13 on the first lap by the same character who took out Todd Lamb on test day. Guess he didn't learn anything.  Needs to stop before somebody gets hurt.  Other than that, is was a very clean and competitive race from P1-25, not sure what was going on behind that.

Here is a good view of Paul playing bumper cars on the first lap. Then proceeds to body slam me off the track in turn 13. Nice driving slick.

Jim it was a pleasure having you in homestead. And as far as Sebring goes we always get our ass kick at our home track lol. That's just how it goes.
