The tub is a write-off. The diff ear broke. The COOL suit (mounted in trunk) was destroyed. But, the rest of the car is untouched...doors, quarter panels, subframes, control arms, engine, Trans, etc. After pushing the rear bumper off the LR tire and strapping the diff back in place, I drove the car back onto the trailer. Steering wheel was still straight, even.
Oops...

The good is your walking talking and typing dad and husband. The rear of the car did it's job.

Cut the cage out an re-tub it. I wrote off a tub at TWS as well. Or is this the straw that drives you to the dark side???

Good to see you are OK. There are two kinds of racers. Those that have totalled cars and those that will total cars...

Sorry about your car Tom, I can say this from experience. I understand the frustration, but everyone i know has been there and done that. Its a part of the business.
Getting another tube and doing a swap is not that big of a deal really. Recommend getting them side by side and doing the switch.

Since the car drives straight, maybe use it for a different kind of race car...

Bummer about the tub, glad you are well. If you're going to hit a tree that's a good way to do it. Look forward to the re-tub blog.

Stripping the old tub starts tonight. Couple cases of ziplocks, a few sharpie markers and several plastic tubs.
The wife is on photo duty.
The next race is Hallett on June 11th. That is the goal.
