The mobius cameras we use with Traqmate create multiple MOV files when the session is longer than about 25 minutes (4GB).
Can anyone recommend a free Windows tool to join/merge multiple MOV files into a single MOV file?

I know RaceRender can join multiple files but it can't output MOV.

I tried VLC and it produced a file that would not play.

I tried Avidemux and it blows up trying to open the source file.

Thanks,
Tom

It's not free but Quicktime Pro makes it easy. Just copy and paste the sections together and save.

It's $29.99

Thanks Jeff, but I tried to buy QT Pro yesterday and it is no longer available for Windows.

Download Microsoft Windows Essentials and it will include Movie Maker and you can merge, cut, and shorten videos and then save it in different formats for playback.

Hmm, for MS Essentials, the only options for save are WMV and MP4. I do not see MOV as an option.

After I cut, edit and merge videos I save them in MP4 and play them with Quicktime with no issues.

I'm not a video expert but the program is pretty easy to use for editing and plays the videos in high quality.

I'm curious why you want to save them in MOV format?

Converting a 35 min MOV to MP4 takes hours of unnecessary processing time. Merging 2 MOV files into a single MOV file should take about 5 minutes.
