I had looked at this Friday Test & Tune day by Road America a few weeks ago, $330.00 two 35 minute sessions, ouch. 

 

Burdzy, Davis, Nuffer in whatever order.

 

 

After Tom's post, I might as well admit it, I'm really pulling for any 1 of the 3 1.6's to do well.

I have a feeling that car/driver combo will be pretty good.  I'm guessing he's the son of Mark Boden, owner of Fall-Line Motorsports...professional operation that has competed in IMSA in the past and regularly fields competitive Porsches and BMWs in Majors.

Hey Frank, I think this one would be a good test case for your contact control scheme. Lots of contact in the top 9. Not sure we'll see any video though.

Certainly an interesting race today. I started 8th and was able to hang on to the main pack and avoid most of the contact. I made it up to second and got passed coming out of Canada corner and lost momentum coming on the straight away and dropped to 5th. Cannot wait to try again and hopefully have better results tomorrow. Congrats to Adam Roberts, Todd Lamb, and Kyle Webb on their podium finishes. Thanks to Todd Lamb and his crew for helping get my car re-aligned for tomorrow's race. 

 

p.s. Sure wish I had my ESR motor in the car this weekend

Congrats Adam on your first majors win. Very cool and no better place to get your first one.

Congrats to Todd and Kyle for rounding out the podium. 

Congrats to all. Very proud of appreciative of all in the top 5 who all run our engines or cylinder heads! Tyler in 6th is getting our engine ready, so he will be a convert as well..Thanks guys!

 

Sounds like a lot of excitement in this race, I hope to see some video.

Congrats to Adam, and Todd, I was very lucky and was able to put a pretty good move on Max to get the p3... Got to p1 with 1.5 laps to go only to get caught up in a spin from behind involving Voytek and Todd, somehow I landed straight on the outside of t5 got going again being pushed by Tyler we caught up right at Canada corner where I made a move stick thanks to Tyler as he pushed be mostly by Max up into t14 where Max and I were side by side and I got the edge coming off that corner. Congrats also to Pecore on p4 that was a damn good finish from where he started.

Lots of lead changes and lot of dents suffered along the way by most. I was dent free till getting collected by a spinning Voytek...

It was sort of a bizarre race and I kind of just played the patient game for the most part not forcing the issue even when I had runs to move up a spot here or there.

Thanks Jim for all the help and the esr power!

It's just nice to get the monkey off my back, this year has had a lot of challenge for me.

Productive impound all meeting after Q2. People unhappy about no penalties yesterday so stewards explained their dilemma and efforts. Burden of proof is too high by their reading of GCR, so it ended up inconclusive (if not exactly a "racing incident").

We then collectively asked for impound all following any major damage. Take time to sort out who was involved, who saw it and might have video, then release the rest. I think it is a sensible first step. Documenting key points of such investigations would be the next.

I am personally for putting any talk of a contact czar on hold, the stewards have heard our voice, we need to give them a few events to show us how serious they are about our concerns, through their actions...

Just as we the racers want to take care of our own problems I think they deserve the chance to do the same from their side of the fence.
