looking for a shop for set up and tunning near nola

I have a 1.6 with newly installed shocks and fat cats and am installing a newish motor.  Any recommendations on spec miata shops that are within a half days drive from New Orleans? Also I built the car myself and neither me nor the car have been to a pro spec miata shop, actually the car has never even been on a scale. What should I expect money wise and time wise for suspension set up and dyno tuning? And finally what can and should I do before hand to be prepared and get the most out of the trip. Any shop owners feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance.

dmq, a couple items you may like to complete before you have a Pro shop do your work is to install WhiteLine offset bushing in your upper control arms making sure you can achieve negative camber desired. Also before you dyno, wrap the tube from the AFM to the throttle body. Keeps ambient air from heating up. Several of us with 1.6's have temperature thermocouple from the air filter to the throttle body. 

 

SCCA Rule:

 

p. For camber adjustment only - inner suspension bushings, on the front upper control arms, may be replaced with nonmetallic offset bushings. The bushings may use metal (inner and/or outer) sleeve(s).  Material and design must be the same in all four positions.  The control arm may be modified to allow for pinning the bushing to prevent rotation.  Spherical bearings are not allowed.

 

To install the WhiteLine offset bushings the upper control arms need to come off the car.

SCCA Rule:

 

a. 1.6L (1990-1993) cars may replace the stock air box with a cone style air filter assembly. The air filter element is unrestricted. No ducting or baffling of air to the air filter is permitted., however, the forward-facing driver’s side turn signal indicator may be removed.  The stock plastic air tubes between the AFM and the throttle body may be covered or wrapped.

 

pm if you'd like to review (directed to silver insulated wrap material from Pegasus or other parts house) removing the parking light and wrapping tubes between the AFM and the throttle body.

bench, thanks. good info. i've pulled the light and cleaned up a header, was wondering about how to insulate the intake tube, and hadn't even thought about the offset bushings.

dmq, if you pm your phone number I'll forward a couple pictures of my tube wrap from AFM to throttle body.

 

Materials used from Pegasus or other parts house:

Heat Barrier Cloth #1832 @ $35.99 per foot

High-Temperature Spray Adhesive #1835-020 @ $17.29

Cut and fit and using spray is a PITA, but looks really neat.

I have also viewed the Self Adhesive Heat Barrier Tape used @ $20.99 per roll. Thru my eye, not as neat looking and may wind up with heat to enter thru side to side wrap..
