Carlos, not being disrespectful but maybe you should hook up with a local SM racer before an error is made in your car selection process.
Please notice his signature line, Pre-build learner.
How about a NER Connecticut SM racer support Carlos.

Color does'nt matter but 6 speed would need to be changed for a 5 speed trans---no big deal unless you were trying to use the transmission that the car came with for a period of time. If buying used a stock transmission that was used lightly is very racerable--less then 50,000 miles after that they all need rebuilds for racing. If buying a 2003-2005 there LSD is a togi---while legal to race with not ideal for most tracks as they do not lock up well enough. The torsen units that come in many are the best.

Flood damage could be a nightmare or a blessing in disguise.
A perfect world would be a 5 speed sport package that already came with a torsen.
Then again (we've had this talk) it's cheaper to buy a race car, but you don't know what your getting really, but an entry point to racing.

Sounds good but the local guys are here plus National champions, multi years racers.
Your not the first and not the last. there's a ton of info, use the search (upper right) newbie, which car, parity, and hang out here and learn.
Ask away. Come across something, post it, will give you our opinion.

To be accurate the diff is a Tochigi-Fuji. Besides the 6 speed those model cars also have the wrong diff...3.9 ratio(all lsd). BUT...I would not dismiss one of these cars if the price was right. Assuming good running condition, that tranny and diff combination is popular among the street crowd and you would have zero problem getting rid of or swapping for what you want! What year was the Evolution Orange available...I don't think I've ever seen one! There are some really nice OEM colors after 2001!

I sold the car and the buyer had it painted and it looked fabulous at the June Sprints. Now I hear it's tearing it up at Autobahn Country Club with another owner.

It took a good driver to sort it out, U.

Carlos,
PM me and we'll see about getting you squared away with a direction for 2017.
I've helped another couple of guys here in NJ to take the dip with their first purchase and be happy to do the same with you.
Thanks,
Brandon
