Mazda's site says it's more than $350 but less than $400.

While we're talking upgrades, what about the subframe reinforcement mentioned at:

1. #21363 (Club Racing Board)
SM Front Subframe Reinforcement

Judging from what I read in the prelims, it would appear this is a codification of using the Mazda Motorsports (MM) "enduro hub" they sell.  The part number they show is the "SCCA bastardization" of the MM part number.

Reading the product write-up they released a couple of years ago about it (early 2015), MM send out factory hubs to a local vendor (Pro Parts - I asked in 2015) for a complete refit of new balls (more sphericity/better roundness tolerances) and different grease.

Prior to this, it has always been a question of whether the hub was "compliant" while not having a mechanism to actually "tech shed" approve it.

Happy to be corrected by those on the SMAC!

I'm going to throw out an example. A front hub with bearings for a mid 90s Camaro will set you back $39.95. What on God's green earth makes a Miata roller bearing worth $350?

Just throwing out an example- you can also get a front hub for a Miata from Rockauto for $21.89.

I would never run it. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

No attempt to justify two Miata aftermarket front hubs at $758.00. But, they do each have two real tapered roller bearings with separate hardened inner and outer races. When we know the bearing numbers, we'll be able to check the radial and axial loads, which we can't do for the OEM hubs.

No question they are expensive, but I spent more than they will cost last year on hubs. I am willing to pay more for a better option and then be able to replace just bearings and races at a much lower cost when needed vs buying more hubs that fail.

I think i went through one hub in two years. I went out and got about 8 old Oem hubs prepacked them all then i would swap out about every two weekends. Cut way down on failures.

750 for two sounds steep. would there not be less friction in the Stock hub?
