Napa Valley, CA (March 10, 2017) – The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce the official 2017 Hoosier contingency program for NASA competitors.  The program is available to all NASA competitors beginning immediately. It's not the SM spec tire..

 

Hoho's have been around running in other open tire classes all along, nothing really changes here or is threatening to me. :scratchchin:

 

Just FYI to SCCA guys they can come run other classes with their tire if they want and maybe win a tire or 2.

Doesn't really affect SM since Toyo is the spec tire, and you can't display both companies stickers on the car at the same time to cash in on both contingencies.

 

Also, if you finish high enough to cash in on the Hoosier contingency, you'd also have to be running Hoosiers, which will get protested and your podium finished will be wiped anyway. 

 

Toyo still pays deeper in the field for us lower regional teams, and the championship payouts for Toyo are also still higher.  

 

Good find though.  Any contingency is good contingency and I love to see companies supporting the Amateur racing community.
