Originally opened in 1957, VIR’s first official event was an SCCA race that attracted stars like Carroll Shelby, Carl Haas and Bob Holbert.  The track soon became a fixture on the SCCA circuit and a favorite among racers due to its high-speed straights, challenging turns and dramatic elevation changes. Since its rebirth in 2000, the historic track has emerged as a world-class road racing circuit hosting SCCA events, as well as top professional sports car and motorcycle racing series in America.

Good point. Okay, bump him out of there and add in Buras or Michael Carter! And then maybe danny :)

You did well with your second shot, I just looked at the list and said, I think John missed three potentials, Buras, Carter and Steyn. I understand there's two mature guys in there, don't throw them out just yet.

Well you see, Bench. I put a lot of critical thinking and analysis into my selections. This is a serious game here. There are maybe 10 guys who will finish top 5, but I can only pick 5.

Alex and Jim have had about as good as a season that you could have. So they have to be in there. *but now I agree with mpr. Jim will probably suck. So I will add Buras or MC Hammer in. Truthfully, I didn't even see Michael Carter's name in there when I first looked but he has had a phenomenal year as well.

Todd Lamb: well...its Todd lamb. he can go fast literally anywhere and proves it every time.

Kicera: first time back in his car, and not a Flatout rental, so I think he will be in there.  And have you seen that resume on mazdaracers? Impressive.

Pmoney Pardus.  He is the real deal. The Truth. The legend. And he is just playing games with us, hustling us, and waiting for the right time to show us that we all suck.  He is a good guy and doesn't want us to all quit and move to STL, but he will dominate soon at his choosing. So he will always be in my top 5.

Daniel Steyn:  Reason I didn't pick Daniel is not because of any personal reason. But If you look at the stats: Finishes are 8,4,6,4,7,7,4,6 (not counting Road ATL cause there wasn't many people there where he finished P2 and P3).  He is right on the cusp of top 5 in races with a lot of names. so I have him a solid P6 but maybe he will prove me wrong :)

Finally someone who thinks about his picks.

I was kidding about Drago sucking though.  I was on pole at the NASA Nationals two years ago I had exactly 5 sessions in the car before I put that effort in.  So the track is easy enough to learn if you have big balls.
