Wideband gauge accuracy: AEM v. Innovate v. ?

I have an older Innovate (LM2???) that I used to tune my Mustang. It worked good. I was going directly to tuning software so I don't know much about the gauges.

 

One thing I didn't see mentioned about using a wideband is that you need to make sure the mounting location is good and you have absolutely no exhaust leaks!

EGT is used in 2-stroke kart engines to quite reproducibly and cheaply measure air:fuel. The distance from the head is critical. When I wrenched on my son's kart, the engine builder specified the distance and the optimal temperature to adjust the mixture to. The thermocouple sensors are inexpensive (not from AIM, lol) and relatively small.

To (finally) make my point, EGT would make a good reference probe to the wide-band sensor if that seems to have poor reproducibility or lifetime.
