Only 2 days before testing starts at Watkins Glen Super Tour and no talk on the forums??? I suspect that running June Sprints and WG back to back really hurts, and that is reflected in the entry list - ONLY 24 entries for Spec Miata. WOW, we get way more than that at every regional race in the SE!!!

 

So the questions are.....

• Has anyone got anything for Kicera at this track????
• Will this be the WG event where one of my friends doesn't put me in the ARMCO's or tire walls????

Would love to be going to this event. Watkins is an awesome track. Back to back super tour events has now cost me the ability to attend 2 of my favorite places VIR and watkins. Hoping next year there is some more time between events

Not doing STs/Majors this year - Indy holds no appeal for me.

 

You should be cheering there's one less person qualifying higher than you.

1.)  No. He is a living legend there. Scholars fifty years from now will still be talking about the legacy he has left there.

2.)  I thought you did that?

oh and 3.)  The clock doesn't reset if there is less than 30 cars

I would have liked to have gone, but being back to back to Sprints killed that deal.  I know scheduling is very tough and tracks only have limited dates available.. but we really need to do better than this. 24 entries at that track is absolutely pathetic. I think it is probably my favorite track to drive right now.

Good luck to those attending, IMO, you will have your hands full with Tyler at his best track... Make a pact not to draft with him

I could 'forget to bleed' the tires down and make things interesting for everyone else.

I was hoping the car count would improve - bummer.  I miss the days of old when the Glen field represented the best of the best in SM.  It's such an epic track and my favorite for many reasons.  

 

Given the weather forecast, conditions could be tricky and make things interesting...

 

It's never over until the checkered flag falls on Sunday.  Despite the numbers, there are some wheelmen in the field - still going to have to earn it!

Curious why they repaved--maybe because of the needed sealer..   Really like the track and the facility.

I thought they just repaved before you guys raced?

They only paved the north (old) track. I don't think they wanted the sealer but after it started to come up, they had no choice but to throw sealer on it. I suppose the south repave is just to fix it for good.
