What is the current status of the compliance fee?

Majors/Super Tour only?  Regionals?

Looking through Motorsportsreg, I noticed that there is a randomness to the compliance fee for SM in regionals.

For example, WDCR MARRS doesn't charge it.  Steel Cities for the Farrar Memorial Regional charges it.  As does the Fun One at WGI.  SJR for Summer Thunder doesn't.

I searched through the GCR (updated August) and it mentions the FE and SRF compliance surcharge but doesn't mention the SM one at all, though I know I paid it at the Super Tour race at Watkins Glen.

Applies for all Super tour and majors, randomly applied at Regional s. For example the IT spectacular this weekend is a regional and they are applying it.

Compliance fees for SRF, SRF3 and FE are authorized in GCR Appendix B.1.6 and set in the SCCA Program Event Fees document available to regions.  The fee is currently $20 / car at all Regional and Major competitions.

Compliance fees for SM are not defined in the GCR but have been established by SCCA Club Racing to implement the Class Compliance Chiefs program. They are set in the SCCA Program Event Fees document available to regions. The fee is currently $20 / car at all Majors competitions (only).

SCCA does not collect an SM compliance fee at Regional competitions.

I stand corrected, They did not charge a compliance fee. My apologies. When i registered for the OVR sprints I by mistake checked the compliance fee box and it was promptly refunded.

Thanks for the clarification Terry! Hope you are well.

Does 20$ matter?

$20 is $20.  Regional guys rarely see any tech beyond weight or confirmation of a restrictor plate.  If the money being collected were being used in a way that was visible to the entrant that could be something of value.
