a couple of questions:
What stream service do you use?
What hardware (cam, encoder, network) do you use?
Any other thoughts?
Thanks

I just picked up a Samsung Gear 360 (2017) that will stream 360deg to Facebook and YouTube through my phone. It has a standard 1/4" camera mount so I can use any roll bar mount like the IO Port mount.
When I used my phone at the June Sprints I didn't have a good phone mount solution for my phone so I wanted to try something new that could show front and rear views.
I had a magnetic phone mount attached to the dash but it wasn't very secure and also overheated the phone in direct sunlight up on the dash.

What are you using for a phone mount?

If you want to go pro... you want something like:
* Cerevo LiveShell - http://static-shell....en/product.html
* Phone or external camera as video input
* Also look at Replay XD cameras which have a special screw-on HDMI/audio cable so your HDMI can't pop out mid-race.
All the guys I know doing successful 24-hour streaming are using setups like this with an external video processor/broadcast unit. These dedicated units can take an RTMP URL so you can broadcast to Facebook, YouTube live, Ustream, etc. There are ways of simul-casting if you add some more software into the mix.
I've got plans for a drop-in livestream "kit". Two trim levels, one is about $800-1000, the other is closer to $2,000. Depends on what you want to accomplish and how long it needs to run. I'm making sure I can handle enduros but also self-contained so it can bolt into the car in 60s.
Cameron Evans from Red Line Oil has done a ton of this with Chump Car, 25 Hours of Thunderhill and Lucky Dog.
Desert off road is transitioning from standalone GPS displays/units like Lowrance and Garmin to sat tracked tablets and in some cases phones (recently got a gig with the company that installs and provides the sat tracking service). Check out someone like Mob Armor for parts or kits to adapt your phone mounts (and checkout the ipad mounts, some may work). http://mobarmor.com/
Ram Mount may be a better option, they do quite a bit more with phones but clearing the camera still may be an issue though you may be able to mount the phone screen side to the mount with the cam facing out. http://www.rammount.com/
There are a couple of others as well but most are focusing on tablets (specifically iPads) and not phones. But they aren't using the cameras so you may need to get creative or at least take some of the ideas. They race in places largely without cell service and they'd need to stream that data via sat internet. Possible but mega expensive. Either of these mounts while not as elegant for a camera as a purpose built solution, it's a hack that's not going to cost a grand or so.
I've tried those 360 cams. They work great. But the picture is useless for really analyzing lines/moves ect because it makes it hard to judge distance and angle.
