Thanks for being a great student and a good friend!  enjoy this victory as this victory looked to be as tough as winning Spec Miata from the Live Feed I watched!!!!!

Yes, fantastic job by Adam particularly while nursing that wheel/tire that was locking up under braking for much of the race.  Not easy to manage that for so many laps.  He was under attack particularly at the end and never cracked.  Fantastic performance and no surprise that several Spec Miata drivers were at or near the front of the grid.

CRX* - But close enough! And it was a good battle between Kutil and Roberts and a great job by both of them!  Sucked to see them so far ahead of the 3rd place car though ...

So this was the same race DS started P2...and it looked like contact right at the start? Happened so quick and from a distance on camera hard to know what occurred. But did this cause Danny to drop out(I think a cut tire?) or did something else fail?

 

Adam drove a hell of a race...with that car puffing smoke from exhaust and tires, I never gave him a chance to come back...great job!

Adam, good things happen to good people. Vary happy for you and I know your Dad is all smiles. You had a plan and executed it. Also a shout out to Sam Myers, even though he is a Honda guy , Sam is top shelf. Congrats to you both.

Yes that is correct. I am not sure what happened at the start cause I was sitting in Turn 1 watching and couldn't see ... not sure who's fault it was. But yeah, he fell back very quickly with a flat tire. I did not think Adam could get back up to Eric, but I think lap traffic helped Adam get back up and it turned out to be a great race!

there was contact that was ruled a racing incident... after review by the stewards.  

 

Adams wheel was broken by this contact and if i knew how to post a pic of it up here I would, he drove the entire race with a boken spoke and i mean broken clear through which only makes this win that much more impressive or death defying not sure which.

First of all I want to Thank Kyle, Jim Drago, Tom Sager, Frank Todaro, Ron Alan, Danica Davison for all the kind words and Congratulations.  After the year I have had I dont think anything could make me feel better or more rewarded than this, especially since it ended in a epic battle with Eric for the Win.  I know I am not on here much (im not much of a social media, forum guy) but so glad you guys still recognze me after being a "traitor".  

 

As some of you may know I was only able to attend the Super Tour race at Mid-o and Gingerman Majors with my SM this year.  My original Plan was to be going to Indy in both cars and classes.  unfirtunetly my Father became Ill this year with some major health complications and I had to re-evaluate my plan.  I helped take care of him and my family while running for Sam Myers in his CRX took a lot of responsibilty off my plate to be able to do that.  I would not be racing without my Father so he was my main Focus throught the Summer months.  

 

I still love my Mazda Family and look forward to getting back behind the wheel of her possibly in 2 weeks time at Mid-Ohio and possibly ARRC? well see in due time.  For now I am enjoyed the spoils of being National Champion.  All the support truely makes it that much more special to me and everyone who has been a part of my life.  

 

My Spec Miata experience and Coaching from Kyle Webb was a major part of helping me obtain the Victory.  I was able to stay calm, focused, and hit my parts while under intense pressure.  

 

Congratulations to Preston Pardus and Team East Street Racing on their MEGA Sm victory, great fun to watch guys.  I am so glad to be a part of this community and East street racing and all the wonderful SM competitors and teams.  

 

Yes, there was contact at the start between Danny and I, but please, please everyone KNOW nothing intential from either of us.  It was very unfortunate to see Danny go out so early.  After both of us watching Video it was clear no one did anything wrong, just a racing incident.  My wheels spoke stick out a little and caused our wheels to grab and made the incident much worse.  without that it would have been just a side panel dusting.  Danny called me first thing this morning and we had a fantastic Chat.  Danny explained his side, to which I fully understand and genuienly believe his explanation.  Danny earned a tremendous amount of respect from me for doing this, as it take a lot of courage to make that Phone call and in such a timely and respectable manner.

 

Dave Wheeler, I owe you for a fuel test port kit and will be giving you a call this week to handle that!

 

 

 

But truely all the support from everyone is greatly appriciated.  I look forward to getting back behind the wheel of my Miata!

Adam, wondered if you could post a little bit about the car?  What displacement engine is it - 1.6, 2.0?  What weight does it race at compared to a Mazda MX-5 or later model Civic SI?

 

I owned a CRX for years in the late 80's.  Put almost 200K on the car, loved it.

If you look at the seam in the road it is apparent that Danny moved over. Not intentional, but drifted over about 3 ft.  I think Adam has a magnet in in his car as I did the same thing to him at Mid Ohio!  Rough week for Danny
