I am working on a flat bed truck with tool boxes. I want to be able to carry trans in one. I do not have a SM yet. Can someone tell me the trans dimension?

With Brandon's info keep in mind the main shaft sticks out approx. 3/4 inch beyond the bell housing.

Dave, I think you are thinking of some other transmission. A Miata trans will sit flush on its bellhousing no problem, the input shaft is well within the bellhousing.
