I think what a lot of people say are red herrings, but when it comes to an identity speaking about their own employment opportunities, I think their voice is more important than someone with no dog in the hunt doing the armchair quarterbacking on their behalf.
I had Cindy Crawford on my dorm room wall in the 1990s, after a Pepsi (I think?) ad made her famous, which made her rich. Does that make me "part of the problem"? Where would she be otherwise? Where was the harm?

I've been a big Liz Hurley fan since Austin Powers and since she's sort of in my age group I've watched her "work" since then. Someone as a joke bought me an autographed photo of her for Christmas. It'll be displayed right next to my iron Mike Ditka autographed picture by the bar in my basement as soon as my wife isn't paying attention.
