Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a 1.8-mile, 10-turn road racing course in the rolling Osage Hills of North Eastern Oklahoma. It is located 35 miles west of Tulsa and has over 80 feet of elevation change. It has wide, grassy runoff areas and zero concrete or Armco barriers. Hallett is unique in that it can be run in either clockwise or counter-clockwise directions making it two completely different race courses.

I didn't even know, not much love from the SCCA site until today.

I assume everyone's at the track.

I'm going to be out of town so won't be posting results either.

What you talkin bout, willis?

I picked Haldeman to win the weekend.

Last year it was Drago, Haldeman, Reynolds in both races.  I think it comes down to those 3 everytime they are in the race together.  Toby is my sentimental pick.

Haldeman had everyone covered.  To make matters worse he was battling car demons, so yes, he could have been even faster.  (Thanks for the sentimental pick Tom, I just couldn't find that extra pace to run with Crik, Soufi & Federl. But I'll take P8 on both days and two tires.  Clean close racing across the field, only a couple of small bumps here and there).

Sorry for the snark, but I do wonder how a new car with an ostensibly new hub would fail on the first outing. I would think the boss' car would get "the best of the best."

Then again Renault couldn't make an F1 engine go a single lap at Bahrain.

Congratulations to Chris on another dominating weekend.  Also to Michael carter, Blake Clements and Matt Reynolds for their podium finishes.

Hallet is one of my best tracks,  The left side weight actually helps me there.. My new car, teething problems aside is/was VERY good and I was driving very well and I still had nothing for Chris. He is driving lights out, he is smart guy who knows the cars as well as anyone, knows setup as well as anyone and his car is exceptional. That is a combination few others racing in our class possess. Those factors, well I guess X factors :) will make him extremely hard to beat anywhere. So you better get to work and get a really good nights sleep as you have your work cut out if you plan on beating him anytime soon.

Carter did very well for his first time there, no disrespect intended, but less the teething issues with the new car and Reynolds not having his flight cancelled, it would have been the same old podium, with chris just further ahead than normal :)  This track has lots of little subtleties and rewards lots of laps.

My weekend.... New car is really nice, it is for sale or rent btw.. In typical fashion.. no issues on test day other than suspension settling and moving a lot.. It continued to move all weekend until after the last qualifying session.

In race one, crank trigger issues.. so I pulled in out of second.  We "thought" it was loose and moved.. Turns out it was just faulty so that killed q2..

In race 2, I heard the rf hub early, like lap 2.. I thought it would hold on, but all the corners are lefts.. If got worse and worse and started with a long brake pedal and quickly went from quick lock ups to almost no brakes at all. It got to where it felt and sounded like the wheel or caliper was about to fall off, so I pulled it in. The bright side, no body dings or marks at all and we should be in good shape for VIR next week and is a very quick turn around.

Hallett is absolutely unforgiving on the right front hub.  Even if they are new after Hallett they are junk.  It's one of the consumables, just like tires and pads at that track.

Really enjoyed the ride along, Jim.  Really makes me miss Hallett.  It's been 2 years since I was there.  Can't wait to go back in June.

What was up with the scenic route after you went off in T5 during Q2?  I was watching with the audio turned down from the safety of my pillow.  :-)

But, CRIPES!  :bomb:  Can you fix that damn phone mount?  :bomb:  Looks like you are driving off-road. :help:

I bought that mount thinking it would be better.. It sucks!

On the scenic route.. The car was shutting off and on, it was qualifying.. and with the hans it is VERY hard to see  behind and to the left (the oncoming traffic). I did not want my problems to ruin someone else's best lap, my session was over, so it didn't matter how long it took to get back, so I drove around until I could see on coming traffic very well before entering back on track.   :)

Which mount do you have?  I haven't tried their phone mount...but, I've had really good luck with RAM mounts for everything else.

Scenic route:  I figured it was something like that.  I had the audio down cuz the wife was still sleeping...for some reason she finds SM race video noises annoying.  :rotfl:
