I had grandiose plans of adding stripes to my car this weekend. A blue stripe and a red stripe from nose to tail on my white car. It was splendid in my mind. Till I tried to put the damn vinyl on....
What a pita. Details here: http://blog.miatarac...-trying-to.html
Anyway, I got a couple of small stripes on the hood that didn't turn out like total garbage. How much faster do you guys think I'll be now? I'm about 10 seconds off the pace of the fast guys at Thunderhill. I'm thinking the stipes may add about 5 seconds. One of the stripes is red after all and we know that adding red to a car is worth 5-10 HP by itself. Not sure how the extra HP from the stripes is going to affect my lap times...
Oddly enough, even though I'm 10 seconds off pace, some friendly person saw fit to "bump draft" me at the last race but that is another topic...
Oh, pics of the car w/ stripes! Yeah baby! See ya at Laguna!
So, I added racing stripes to my car this weekend...

Looks great. The toyo stickers are pretty cool too.

It looks like it turned out pretty good. That should get you ~15 hp....add more hoodpins, those at 20hp each

Looks good. You might gain about 5 seconds by putting your headlights down, next time you race.

Actually turned out well. I see you're in software too so you know the saying - "It's not a bug - it's a feature."

Thanks for the feedback. As you may be able to guess, I was a little punch drunk after all that work.
Not sure I ever want to do that again. I'd rather change the diff oil (least favorite task). At least that is over quickly.
