The second part, is the fact that I'm not that good, yet. If I started changing setups at this point, i would end up chasing my driving errors rather than the track.

It's not so much about changing set ups as it is getting and maintaining a good baseline. That's where getting some track support helps with some coaching. The basics include your cross weights, alignment, camber/caster and pressures. Even at this stage your pressures are likely going to need to be adjusted at each session due to track conditions.

Have fun!

One more time for those that are challenged. I did a tire test for Toyo. The Nitto NT01 and Toyo RA1 are exactly the same tire with different tread pattern and mold thickness. At 2/32" they are EXACTLY THE SAME!!! At 4/32" they perform EXACTLY the same. The NT01 is moulded at 6/32" and YOU CAN RUN IT WITHOUT SHAVING IT. At 6/32 is will behave differently than a 6/32" RA1 because the tread pattern is different. The RA1 starts life at 8/32"

So just to be CLEAR.

The construction is the same!

The compound is the same!

Are the personal insults really necessary? I'd expect you to be a bit more of a pro...

Got it. Heard you, quoted you, believe you.

Other's have been pushing me away from the NT-01 (except Cy). I'm sticking to my guns at $150 savings per set (give or take), based on your comments (both previously and above) and Cy's. You and Cy also seem to agree that at FT they are different from the RA1. I'm fine with that. By the time I care, I'll have worn them down to 2/32 and it won't matter anymore.

I think he's still fuming over the Sprints, and the two letters from "the other Mike".

I miss the "duck the flying tomato" emoticon.
