Hey Gang,

Who's going to make it to Infineon for the NASA event just two weeks before the NASCAR boys tear up the track? I'm sure they'll appreciate our race videos to help them learn the track.

As the schedule stands right now, we have a 50 minute race slot on Sunday and Jerry said he's cooking up something "interesting" for us.

Who's in??

Cheers,

Dean

I'm in....expecting new paint job to take .5 sec off lap times.

This explains the email from J.Johnson in my inbox...must be a request for videos and
setup notes.

I'm trying to play through in my mind what that would be like...

I'd predict lots of offs driver's right at the exit of T2 as the track drops away.

Bottom of T1 would be scary as all hell - lots of speed coming down the hill and a very hard wall as the exit.

Speed approaching T11 would be very high!

Entering the esses with a full head of steam from T10 would be AWESOME, although you could use the motorcycle chicane to keep speeds down in T10 and then up through the esses.

T6 UPHILL would be badass, but not nearly as badass as 3a and 3 DOWNHILL!

Just dreaming...

Only on a simulator. During the track reconstruction, we ran some very interesting variations
but never completely backwards.

I could see the section used by Indy/bikes added to the mix next weekend...maybe the Nascar
extension to T7. Nascar shoot is fun, but not at the expense of the carousel.

I'd like to run the NASCAR chute for perhaps the shorter race just so we'd be able to compare lap times and cornering speeds "apples to apples" with the Sprint Cup cars that will be there just two weeks later.

3-3a would be similar to the corkscrew. Just a little longer so that would be fun. The only downside is having to climb a few hundred feet in elevation from the bottom of 6 to the top of 3a.

Id imagine going up turn 6 halfway in 4th then down to 3rd until turn 5 then back to 4th with a no brake downshift to 3rd for turn 4 up to 3a then hopefully shift to 4th at the exit of 3.

The reason Im stopping this at turn 3 is because turn 2-1 will be out of this world.

May be a little hard to read because Im exited.

I've gotten a little more information on the race formats for this coming weekend. Like it or not, it's going to be a surprise.

But let me give you this advice:

- Study ALL configurations of the track. ALMS, Indy, NASCAR and AMA.
- Expect the unexpected.
- Bring your A-game for driving and a smile on your face to "go with the flow"!
- Adaptation will be important.

Cheers,

Dean

>>> - Study ALL configurations of the track. ALMS, Indy, NASCAR and AMA.

Each lap when you go past start/finish, the flagger will be holding
up a different card with a number on it corresponding to the track config
(ex #1 = ALMS, #2 = Indy, etc). That will be the config you run
for that lap.....:D

Can we at least rule out the figure 8 configuration?
