Here is my race video from the 2014 June Sprints. Trying different camera placements. At 15 minutes the bumper cam mount loosens and camera points to the ground, and later on the driver cam battery gives up the ghost.

Yup, noticed that too. If you were the 2nd car, it appeared as if you had 5HP on the guy in front, but as soon as you switched positions, the guy that you were killing was all over your bumper

Great video Danny, thank you for sharing. The draft with 2 cars was amazing.... No way the 3rd car was going by if front 2 stayed in a perfect line. In fact hard to touch bumper of 2nd car. I went from thinking, when one car was in front of me, that I had the fastest car on the track, to wondering if I was down on power behind two cars. I would hit 3 and 14 well and not be able to do anything with it. Of course the accordion effect remained between 5 and 8
Gotta say that Joey noticed that at the Runoffs... Every time he hoped out of Nick Leverones draft or they tried to go with 3 it was not as good as 2 on their own... If you watch the race and if you know Nick's car you notice it moving closer to the front packmost of the time you cant see that OPM rental behind it, but it's their! We need someone smarter than me to explain why a 3 car draft does not work as well as a 2 car draft

Joe (dad),
It is probably the same phenomena we saw at Talladega and Daytona several years ago where two cars (one leading and the other pushing) were faster than a 10 car train.

Same experience last year at Sprints and Runoffs. When we had 3 cars, the trail car got dropped almost every time. I think it has to do with the shared load at low speeds, the two cars hooked up are sharing the torque of two engines while car 3 wasn't in contact at exit. As soon as the front 2 cars start bump drafting at relatively low speeds they would pull away even if I was tucked in but not touching. They carried that advantage all the way down the straight and as I was continually getting farther behind and I would loose the draft at the higher speeds. If i was fortunate enough to make contact with the middle car in the train before the middle car made contact with the front car I would get to be part of the train, if not, off the back i would go.

That is a very accurate description.. I would add it is seems exponetial when you are car 4 and car 5 and so on. Thankfully the accordian effect brought the pack back together in the corners.
Fortunately for me, I have not experienced much of this I told Craig the other morning.. The best way to deal with this is to start and stay at the front

Todd did Danny's bumper cam really just loosen and point to the ground, or is it lodged in your front bumper
Objects in GoPro are closer than they appear.
PS how about that GoPro stock IPO?

Watching the IPO with interest. Not really sure I would go in right at the start, but…… Also, GoPro is a one trick pony, which can easily fall victim to over saturation and to new competition. Think of early Garmin, which roared and then dropped back a lot. They compensated with new products and have sort of recovered. Not sure GoPro has new products (or different types of hardware) in the pipeline.

shows you how much I know, GPRO is up 30% from first offer
Let's see where it settles (GoPro IPO). I am waiting to see what the price is after the initial hype.

I like to hero 2 better than the hero 3 so unless they come up with something fantastic I am not buying anything new from them.
