For those of you going to the TWS race this weekend it might be good to get together after the regional awards ceremony Saturday to decide what WE want to do with respect to engine rules.  Maybe just get together near the pavilion (free beer there) and have a discussion.  I know Chris Halderman is supposed to be there so maybe he could give us some insight.  I think Ed Gilfus was going to be around part of the day also.

It's our club.  So instead of complaining on a message board let's do something novel and make some decisions ourselves.

I'm sure many who will be at the race don't read this message board but if there's interest please post that you'll make an appearance and spread the word.

Despite earlier claims to the contrary - I signed up yesterday so I will be there. I would like to suggest an agenda that addresses the decision and the process to reach the decision. Seperate issues. I have concerns with both as I know others do (although there may or may not be unity in opinion which we can discuss).

I strongly suggest that we all read the club by-laws and learn any other decision procedures that you are able, so that we don't get energized on a path we cannot influence. In addition we may consider checking to see if other area BOD member will be at the race. He is our representation at SCCA and will be casting his vote in December on this issue.

Can't be there for the meeting, much more important things to do. I will send my message to the SCCA the old fashion way, $$$$.

Agree with Craig.  Mini agenda might be good otherwise things will go all over the place.  I don't know our Region BOD.

My main question around the letter today is exactly how much is plunge cutting worth in terms of HP on a restricted head?- discussion point

Getting some information around that question should lead us to deciding if we- SowDiv. - want to

a)compete with the rules as written allowing the plunge cut or

B) go in another direction.

If Topeka just wants to do their own thing we might consider our own class or series as happened with Bob Stretch and Wheels America.  Enough of us do that then all will follow.  No matter what the Bylaws say.

I have just sent Daniel an email requesting a group meeting with him on Saturday if he is attending TWS.  I'll let you know his response (I love GoGo Inflight WiFi...)

OK, so Dan can't meet with us in the evening as he is heading home, but he can meet with us at or before lunch. Let's get our act together with a couple of us to meet with him and get the background. We can chat Friday night or first thing Saturday to sort out who is available.

I will be there Saturday morning to practice and qual.  So if we can chat about it then, that would be great.

Sunday I will race and kick everyones ass.

Ok so we will have a good few people to get together. I am going to spend some time before then making sure I get a better handle on understanding the SCCA process for rule changes - so that I can comment from a position of legislative accuracy.

MPR, if your motor is as big as your mouth I'm sure you will do fine on Sunday :)
