Greetings NorCal Drivers!!!
This year will run much as it did last year. All Supps are still in place (I Hope to have them updated to reflect 2015 shortly). Cameras are still required and the No Defending your position is not being used.
For the Points Championship this year there will again the 2 lowest points race will be dropped (cannot drop a DQ). This year the Western States Championship will again be included into the Regional Points. However, both the Qualifying races and the Championship will be scored individually. So to be clear there will be three points paying races at the WSC weekend. If in the unlikely event that a NorCal SM driver is denied entry to the WSC due to car count limits, they will be given one less point as the last finishing NorCal participant, upon their request. Be sure to register early!!
Additionally, this year NASA NorCal is proud to present the NASA NorCal SpecMiata Small Block Challenge (SBC). This will be a series within a series for 90-93 (1.6L) SpecMiatas only. These Drivers will score points in the NASA NorCal series and the SBC series. Only SBC Drives will be scored against each other. For example, If a SBC driver finishes 1st overall they would receive 1st place points in NASA NorCal and SBC. If the next SBC driver finished 4th they would receive Nasa NorCal Points for 4th and SBC points for 2nd. Any tie in points at the end of the season will be broken by best finishing positions. If a tie still exists after this the driver who whined the least to NASA or the Series director (as determined by the Series Director) will be awarded the higher position.
The SBC is a NorCal Region only series. There will be no contingency awards for the SBC participants related to their finishing position in the SBC. This series is for fun and bragging rights. At the end of the year I will go through the unclaimed trophy stash and find appropriate awards.
Drivers wishing to participate shall notify the NorCal Series Director before their first race. Only finishes in a 90-93 SM will be scored.
