We are almost to the 2015 Runoffs, has anyone heard what tracks are being considered for 2017.

VIR

Pit Race

Barber

INDY

Atlanta

COTA

Nelson Ledges

BTW

Our PCA region just did a DE at Indy this a few weeks ago. All went well and we did not embarrass ourselves. That means the door may be open for club racing next year. Indy's facilities, history and museum are top notch.

Plus its in my back yard.

Nelson ledges has a special place in my heart. Began my motorcycle career there in 1989 after going there with my parents for years before. Realistically I want Cota or indy

Indy would be great but they'd have to relax a lot of their existing rules.

As of now, or in effect at the PCA event at Indy:

No overnight stays in the paddock.(we could bring our motorhome but couldn't stay in it overnight)

No ATVs, carts, bikes or other motorized pit/paddock support vehicles.

No compressed air in the garages.

and lots of rules governing traffic flow.

We  can only hope the folks in Topeka do their homework before signing on the dotted line.

The circuit itself is not that spectacular, IMO no roval is, but the facility and the history is impressive. I suspect that the quality of the facility and the central location will put it high on the list. I know SCCA has been talking to them but that is all i know.

Just an FYI Indy had not had many or any nonprofessional events there, As i understand it, our PCA DE was the first DE ever and they were only lured into allowing us there as they thought we were bringing all Porsche cars. They do however want to expand the use and revenue of the track. It will be interesting, as they have there own way of doing things and i get the feeling there attitude is our way or the highway.

Just because the PCA did not have 24 hr access does not mean the SCCA would work out that deal. Our weekend was right after an event there, and right before the track was going to be closed down for repairs.

Many tracks have the same rules regarding pit bikes and carts it’s just not enforced. I reviewed the contracts for that event and will tell you it was very specific on the dos and don’ts.

The only other non professional events I'm aware of are the two rather large and successful SVRA events that were held there.

Would be curious as to the accommodations made for them.
